Yesterday was spent at the hospital for Lucy's left ankle surgery. It literally took all day (not the surgery just the whole deal.) She was a trooper and the operation was a success. You may be asking why did Lucy need surgery? and this picture would be the answer. Long boarding. Yep, trying out new tricks.
Dr. Allen removed a "big", as he called it, bone chip and tightened up the ligaments. (This photo is of her right ankle surgery that was done in Dec of 2006. Same surgery different ankle. Check out the cool pain pump that they insert. It's good for about 100 hours and deflates as it empties. Dr. Allen will remove it at her follow up visit.) Dr. Allen was going to take photos of yesterday's surgery but it was too busy. Lucy's surgery was delayed for 2 hours due to complications with the one before hers.
Thanks to everyone for their calls . Can you see the pretty roses in the background of this pic? Lucy's YW leader, Sister Benton brought them by. Lucy was so happy to get them, as they are her first roses (that's a hard way to get them!) Holly brought Lucy a Grey's Anatomy Trivia game so everyone is welcome to come by and see if they can beat her at it!

Wow, I recognize that boot. Too bad I am out of mine or we could be twins! Tell Lucy that we are thinking about her and hope she gets better soon! Have you checked out the scooters? They are WAY better than crutches and you go alot faster. But with Lucy's history that might not be a good thing for her!
Thanks, yeah we got her a scooter but she thinks it would be lame to take it to school. I can't believe she would rather be on crutches there. At home though she is wheeling around.

Ah, twice yearly Roberts tradition of fixing whatever it was that Lucy broke since the last one. Good times, good times...
